Yes it's true, I'm getting hitched, however you call it...

          I'm getting married!

Here is the story, way back in December 2012, a cousin in law of mine e-mailed me to inform me of her latest find.
Since she knew that I was sort of giving up on my search for my better half, she had been on the look out.  She wrote,
"Well I have been thinking hard about what to get you for Christmas.  I think I found it or HER!!!!!  Anyways I can just
initiate the set-up, the rest is up to you." So, I talked to my cousin in law and she convinced me to call HER.  So, I did
call HER.  She didn't answer her phone so I e-mailed her on December 21, 2012, just before the holidays. The holidays
passed and on January 8, 2013, she e-mailed me and apologized for not answering right away.
I e-mailed her back and we agreed to meet face to face at a local Mexican restaurant named Mi Pueblito on Friday
January 18, 2013 at 6:00pm.

Our first date! I showed up about 15 minutes early and she showed up right on time.  She wore a red sweater, hoop
earrings, and a hoop necklace, jeans, tall boots meant for walking and a scarf.  She was beautiful.  Her name is
Heather H.  She's 40 and lives with her parents. She's the "HH" in HHnDG.com. I'm "DG!"
Anyhow, we kept dating and things got a bit spicy when I kissed her on March 6, 2013 and we've been kissing ever
since!

OK, boys and girls this is not the Princess Bride story so let me get to the point.
There are camels in this story!

In late April and early May, Heather invited me, three times, to have dinner at her parent's house, where she lives.
During one of those dinners, her father asked his wife how many camels would it take for me to take Heather off their
hands. Her mother laughed and her father estimated that two camels would suffice for me to take Heather off their
hands.

On September 7, 2013, My little brother, his wife and I went to the local jewelers and I bought the engagement ring that
Heather had previously chosen, at my request, with her Mother.  Then, on my way to my mother's house, I took a
detour and I bought 24 Camels from the little store in Calpella.  Yes, 24 Camels, believe it or not,  fit nicely in a
smoker's pocket and they don't slobber everywhere besides one can buy them at any local Quicky Mart.  So, I took an
other detour and went to Heather's parents' house. I arrived with my pack of Camels in my pocket.  Heather ran outside
to greet me with a kiss.  Then, I asked to see her dad privately.  She thought that something serious was going to
happen or had happened. She summoned her dad over and she went back in the house as her father came out to see
me.  At that point I handed to him the pack of Camels and he looked at me and said, "What are these for? I don't
smoke!".  I looked at him and said, "Here are the Camels you requested in exchange for Heather and I'd like to ask
your permission to have her hand in marriage." To which he responded, "Yes, but it's up to her to decide."  So, he
placed the Camels on the outside table and walked back in.  Nervous and a bit shaken, I walked away. Heather came
outside and saw the pack of cigarettes on the table and started to rant and rave about, who the heck smokes Camels.
Suddenly, a pause came in her ranting and she started to laugh hysterically. She remembered the two camel price set
by her dad in May.  She knew then that I had asked for her hand in marriage.
So, she came to me and we hugged for a while. Now, at that point, I whispered in her ear that October 19, 2013, one
day after our nine months together, we'd go to the Mendocino Botanical Gardens.

October 19, 2013, a beautiful Saturday morning, I drove to her house and we got in her car.  I had a courier bag and in
it were several things including a very beautiful and special piece of "bling".  Yup, a diamond ring (see the photo
above) was in that bag but she didn't know it.  We had lunch at the Wharf in Fort Bragg and then went to the
Mendocino Botanical Gardens. The fog was thick, the air was cold and the breeze was slight.
The Begonias were gorgeous and the Dahlias were still there but on their way out. We walked to the bluff and found
our favorite bench. We sat down and reminisced a bit. We had been on that bench on April 3, 2013.  After a while I
gathered enough gumption to actually place my knee on the ground and face Heather with a carefully gift wrapped box
in my right hand.  She asked me to unwrap and open the box.  I opened the box. I showed her the ring.  Then, I asked
her if she'd marry me.  With a beaming smile, she answered, "YES!".... The rest is....well....our story!

                                                                                Well.....

YES! WE DID IT!
                                                                      We are now married!

Many thanks to all of you who by either your participation or presence made this great day such a success.
The ceremony was wonderful and so was the reception.  To see a video montage of the event, made by Brooke Clarke

and to see a few photos taken by George Gibbs there are, now, a few "photo Pages" available on the "Frequently
Asked Questions" page.

Upon our return from our honey moon part 1, we found our house in better shape than I left it. It seems that some
"mothers" (yet to be identified) had a bit of a cleaning and organizing itch and decided to scratch it with our house.
Many thanks are well deserved by those "mothers".

Also, we did find a very nice description of the event written by Jonathan Middlebrook, in the local edition of the local
paper dated April 15, 2014.
